Abstract

Three research approaches on the problem of knowledge application are discussed: experimental research on transfer, cognitive-"constructivistic" instructional approaches, and learning on the job. Advantages and disadvantages of these research perspectives are shown in a review of typical examples of these approaches. The necessity of developing a theoretical model of applicable knowledge is stressed.
