Abstract

Reference managers, which have become a common tool in academic writing, seem to lend themselves almost naturally to historical research and to the management (and citation) of oftentimes vast collections of sources. This paper discusses strenghts and weaknesses of working with the Zotero reference manager, especially when dealing with non-latin scripts, showcasing an example of the project "Open Arabic Periodical Editions" (Dr. Till Grallert).
