Abstract
Within a network which is characterized by (sic)poetic contemporaneity <, Thomas Mann, Harry Graf Kessler, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and Rainer Maria Rilke try to answer the question of which literary form is suited for evaluating the events after 1914: Which genre and which mode of speaking are apt to reflect World War I both on an individual and a collective level?
