Abstract
Biliproteine, die aus Proteinen und Gallenfarbstoffen bestehen, dienen als Lichtsammlerpigmente der Photosynthese und als Lichtsinnespigmente photosynthetisierender Organismen. Es wird ein Uberblick über neuere Entwicklungen der Biochemie und Biophysik dieser Pigmente gegeben und versucht, ihre Funktionen als Lichtsammler und Informationswandler auf molekularer Ebene zu beschreiben.
