Abstract
A flexible, electro n-rich building block was integrated into the backbone of a metal-organic framework with a MOF-74 topology. The building block comprises a central anthracene core connected to acetylene groups. Solvothermal synthesis with Mn2+ yields a highly crystalline anthracene-ethyne-based MOF-74 structure. It shows an unusual helical rod-like morphology, exhibiting visible light absorption and photo-luminescence.
