Abstract

Radiological anatomy and computertomography of the porcine carpus and tarsus - a contribution to the diagnostics of osteopathies Osteophathies of fattening and breeding pigs are responsible for majoreconomic losses. A specific and reliable diagnosis of osteoarthropathies and osteochondropathies allows for an early detection and therefore selection of bloodlines or single breeding animals. Radiographic and computertomographic examinations were performed at regular intervals ona total of six pigs. The acquired results demonstrate a comparison of the used examination methods and serve as a basis for further studies, especially in pigs affected with skeletal diseases.
