Abstract

It is reported on 23 fractures of the patella in 20 dogs and 2 cats.Most fractures were these of the apex patellae (8) and in the area ofthe corpus patellae the splintered (10) before the transverse (4) andthe longitudinal fracture (1). The therapy of these damages aredescribed and documented. With regard to the function the prognosis isfavourable, nevertheless arthrotic alterations are to expect.
