Abstract
During the last couple of years a variety of substances appeared on the drug market which are summarized under the overall heading of aEuroNPS" = New psychoactive Substances. Definitions such as aEuroLegal highs" or aEuroBadesalze" = aEuroBath salts" are giving the false impression of legality and harmlessness. However, the preparations often contain highly effective intoxicating substances that are partially belonging to narcotics whose use is strictly regulated by the narcotics law. The course of intoxication often shows critical clinical situations up to fatal overdoses/the death of users.
