Abstract
Clinical neurophysiology still has a role in the diagnostic process of pediatric neuromuscular disorders. It should be integrated into a stepwise diagnostic process which includes a first step clinical examination to build a clinical hypothesis, followed by muscle ultrasound, and finally clinical neurophysiology where it is necessary. There is still a need for further research if new techniques such as impedance myography, motor unit counting, and others give additional information and if they can be used to evaluate the efficacy of new drugs.
