Abstract

As an inevitable consequence of the admission of homosexuals to psychoanalytic training, it is obvious that in homosexual and mixed-oriented couples in psychoanalysis, specific constellations and processes result which so far have been given little consideration. They arise from the specific homosexual development and dynamics. This is constellated around the developmental positions of the "homosexual dilemma" and the "homosexual triad". They need a special perception, reflection and training, and cannot be simply borrowed from conventional treatment theory. These constellations and processes require a training institution that is open to homosexuality. It acts as a good enough environment to enable and protect the processes resulting from the analysis by and/or with homosexuals, where the candidate, the training analyst or both can live openly gay.
