Abstract

The substance classes of silicones and cyclodextrins have various fields of application and constitute innovative contents for chemical education. Those topics will find their way into chemical education only if teachers are familiar with experiments and are aware of the variety of their applications and the relation to mandatory contents of curricula. Meaningful learning materials, properly functioning and tested experiment instructions as well as available chemicals, facilitate the implementation into school. CHEM2DO tackles aspects including but not limited to those outlined above. CHEM2DO is a cooperation project between the departments for chemical education in Wuppertal, Munchen and Munster and the global company Wacker Chemie AG.
