Abstract

In der Juli-Umfrage des Ökonomenpanels von ifo und FAZ wurden Professoren für Volkswirtschaftslehre an deutschen Universitäten zu den geplanten Freihandelsabkommen TTIP und CETA befragt. Die Mehrheit der Teilnehmer befürwortet demnach die beiden Freihandelsabkommen und erwartet von diesen für alle jeweils beteiligten Länder positive ökonomische Impulse. Zugleich hält es aber eine Mehrheit für unwahrscheinlich, dass die noch laufenden TTIP-Verhandlungen zu einem Abschluss kommen werden. Ein Scheitern hätte laut einer Mehrheit der befragten Ökonomen negative Auswirkungen für die deutsche Wirtschaft und das politische Gewicht Europas in der Welt.

Abstract

The July issue of the Economists Panel conducted by the Ifo Institute and the FAZ economics surveys professors at German universities on the planned free trade agreements TTIP and CETA. According to the survey results, the majority of participants supports both free trade agreements and expects them to have positive economic stimuli for all of the countries involved. At the same time the majority believes that the ongoing TTIP negotiations are unlikely to be concluded. According to the majority of economists surveyed, a failure to reach an agreement would negatively impact the German economy and Europe’s political influence in the world.
