Abstract

Disorders of visual perception often lead to impairments relevant to daily living within the framework of conspicuous ophthalmological symptoms and of central lesions or developmental problems. The aim of the presented Sk2 guidelines according to the regulations of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany is to discuss the terminology, including the associated concepts, to name etiologies of the disorder and the resulting risk groups for which a systematic investigation should be included. Finally, to give an orientation on the necessary ophthalmological, pediatric neurological and neurophysiological diagnostics and to present the therapeutic and special pedagogic options and requirements.
