Abstract
This article investigates the didactical potential of using e-learning methods (especially wikis) for teaching Biblical Studies. After specifying the concept of e-learning and summarizing different purposes and motivations for integrating e-learning into the didactics of teaching Biblical Studies the article argues that wikis are an ideal tool to implement the didactical principle of Learning through Research (»Forschendes Lernen«) into teaching Biblical Studies. Using wikis in blended learning scenarios may help to qualify students to become responsible and creative exegetes. However, the article concludes that e-learning should not be used in the teaching only for its own sake or to follow a trend in university didactics. E-Learning should be used only when actual didactical challenges are addressed, and when it has advantages compared to traditional methods of teaching.
