Abstract

Cardiac arrhythmias in children are relatively rare events and therefore represent a great cognitive and emotional challenge for pediatricians. During an acute situation, however, a specific diagnosis of the arrhythmia is usually not necessary because the initial treatment depends primarily on the clinical condition of the child. With the aid of a simple guideline, every pediatrician is able to performadequate acute treatment.
