Abstract

Despite the vital role of nurses and medical assistants in realizing high quality care focused on the patient, especially in dermatosurgery, dermatological meetings in Germany usually did not offer possibilities for their specific medical education. As early as 2011, dermatosurgical courses for nurses and medical assistants were established at the yearly conference "Dermatologische Praxis" (today "Derm") in Frankenthal. These courses were well attended and allowed for a needs assessment. Based on the experiences of these courses, we developed this curriculum. Important topics are listed in chronological order and are then further specified.
