Abstract

The intervention process in AAC is based on a systematic, specific and individualized assessment. The diagnostic goal is geared to ICF in order to improve participation in everyday communication situations through the use of a communication system that relies on the abilities of the affected person. Methods of assessment include interviews, observation and testing. All communication partners of the person using AAC are involved in the assessment process and they help define a common intervention goal.
