Abstract
German populist parties such as the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) and the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) have increased in popularity and influence, with both parties successfully establishing a presence on TikTok, bringing young people and first-time voters in contact with their political messages. Though AfD and BSW maintain relatively low posting activity, they achieve significant visibility compared to other German political parties. As TikTok continues to shape political discourse, Maximilian Eder and Jörg Haßler discuss how the parties are succeeding.
