Abstract

The first prototype of a neutron monochromator, consisting of bent perfect Si lamellae, is used on a neutron diffractometer at the FRM. The properties in real and momentum space were studied and experimental results discussed. The characteristics of the bent packet are briefly compared with other new methods using bent crystals.
