Abstract
The article deals with the discussion about the relationship between church and media in Germany from 1949 to 1969. Its focus lies on the difficulties that result from defining boundaries and junctions within the field of church, Christianity and society. The analysis implies that current debates on this topic would also benefit from a historical perspective, especially concepts of "public theology".
