Abstract

This paper intends to examine the semantic duplicity of the terms pax and anima in Lucr. v 1229-1230, and examines the symbolic use of the imagery of the winds, of the storm and of the shipwreck to represent the passions in the Lucretian poem and the Epicurean remedy to them, which leads to the achievement of the divine happiness,
