Abstract

Homeopathy as a practical science sui generis - a perspective from the humanities.

The charge that the efficacy of homeopathy might not be provable by means of natural science comes to nothing, as homeopathy has been more than an applied natural science ever since. lt is a practical science sui generis whose task, approach, and subject cannot be grasped by natural sciences, but only teleologically and in terms of the humanities. Contrary to conventional medicine which is aligned technologically and structurally money-driven, homeopathy is methodologically oriented towards the wellbeing of the patient, corresponding to the classical ideal of a rational and beneficial art of healing.
