Abstract

In the volume, the historical dimension of relations and cooperation in and around the Black Sea is addressed through three articles (Mehmet Hacısalihoğlu, Tsvetelina Tsvetkova, Evgeniy Bahrevskiy). The following five articles examine contemporary political relations in the Black Sea region and its surroundings through the foreign policies of different countries (Çiğdem Nas, Darina Grigorova, Sergii Pakhomenko, Emrullah Ataseven, and Gencer Özcan). The work then goes on to address issues of energy (A. Beril Tuğrul), music (Abdullah Akat), and tourism (Kenan Aydın). In the final section, a special issue of the academic journal Osteuropa, published in Germany, which comparatively examines Russia and Turkey, is reviewed, and how regional relations are viewed from Central and Western European perspectives is briefly discussed.
