Abstract
This chapter provides a résumé and a short outlook on the current Passion play season. We first discuss the relationship between brands and singularities, highlighting connections between individual contributions, and briefly outline the paradoxical potential of the pandemic to consolidate the playing tradition by interrupting it. In a glance at the premiere of the 2022 Passion play (14 May), we emphasise the fact that the choir’s clothing when entering the stage reminded of the 19th century; it became quite apparent that the choir members represented the Oberammergauers. We interpret this as a stabilisation of Oberammergau’s proper time (Eigenzeit), which in turn helps to consolidate the trademark of Oberammergau.
