Abstract
Context, methods and selected results of scientific processing of sexual violence in educational institutions are described based on the example of the Odenwaldschule. Social science studies seem to be helpful vehicles in condensing and intensifying disclosure processes, which were brought on by victims and transported by society. Naming the offences and perpetrators and being a mouthpiece for victims are central aspects of such studies. The interaction of individual and collective memories and the reproduction of unsolved conflicts arising from the past during the disclosure process stand out.
